A newborn gift box is one of the most thoughtful ways to welcome a new baby. It lets you combine a few useful pieces into one beautiful present, and if you choose the right box, it becomes a keepsake in its own right. Here’s what we recommend including.
Start with the box
Choose a box that’s worth keeping. Our Petal Box is a white wooden box with a glass lid, the Keepsake Chest is natural wood, and the Memory Box is a classic white box. Long after the gift is opened, parents can use it to store first outfits, hospital bracelets and little treasures.
The newborn gift box checklist
- Something to wear: a baby grow or vest in soft, stretchy fabric.
- Something to keep warm: a knotted beanie for those first days home.
- Something to snuggle in: a blanket or swaddle.
- Something practical: burp cloths, a dummy holder or a dummy clip.
- Something to keep: a framed nursery print or the Baby Bee Soother.
- A personal note: a few words for the new family make the gift feel complete.
Choose one print to tie it together
One of the easiest ways to make a gift box feel special is to choose a single print for everything inside. All our clothing, blankets and many accessories come in the same 24 hand-painted characters, from Julia’s Dreamy Giraffe to Captain Benji Bear, so a matching set looks considered and personal.
Which size should I choose?
Babies grow quickly, so newborn sizes may only fit for a few weeks. If you’re giving a gift before the birth, choose 0-3 or 3-6 months so the parents get more wear out of it. Our baby grows, vests, leggings and beanies come in newborn, 0-3, 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12 months.
